Coffee House Welcomes: Rob Emple - Solo acoustic guitar and singer

Rob Emple 2018 poster

Rob lives in Falmouth with his wife Denise.  Their three children attended Falmouth schools, the youngest just graduating in June.

He started performing during his UNH college days at venues in Portsmouth/Dover/Durham NH.  In the summers he played in Bar Harbor, and his home town of Bangor.  During his junior year abroad, at the London School of Economics, he busked at Convent Gardens, and was a regular at a neighborhood pub, where he was “discovered” and asked to perform at London’s Palace Theatre.  The agent mailed him a contract – the letter signed by Andrew Lloyd Webber (which frankly, was the highlight of that gig!).  Rob moved to Portland in 1986 after graduating college and continued to perform at a handful of venues, until the early ‘90s, when he took a short hiatus to focus on his day job, family life and the kids’ busy schedules.

Over the past 25 years, aside from a few private gigs, Rob’s playing has been limited to his basement.  He recently performed at Gritty McDuff’s 30th anniversary party and looks forward to playing more frequently.

Rob plays a variety of cover songs - classic rock, old and new country, contemporary pop, and even a few oldies (relatively speaking).
